The idea

In entertainment, the release date is the story, and every pitch has to earn its slot on an editor’s calendar.

Entertainment editors plan around release schedules, festival line-ups, award seasons and premiere dates. A trailer drop, a tour announcement or a streaming debut has a short window when it counts as news, and the outlets that cover it fill their slots weeks ahead. Pitching on release day is usually too late.

Attention is easy to buy. Credibility is not. We plan earned coverage, sponsored features and paid promotion as one campaign, and every item in your coverage log is labelled earned, placed or paid. You always know which results came from editors and critics choosing to cover you, and which ones you paid for.

The work also lasts longer than the release window. Interviews, profiles and reviews stay in search results and in the sources AI assistants read, so the coverage you earn this season shapes how people find the work and its makers for years afterwards.

86%

Off-beat pitches don’t get a second look

Cision’s 2025 State of the Media report, based on a survey of more than 3,000 journalists, found that 86% will reject a pitch straight away if it doesn’t fit their beat or audience. Entertainment desks are no different, which is why we build short, researched media lists for every release.

How a campaign runs

From release date to coverage in five steps

Most release campaigns start eight to twelve weeks before launch. Shorter runs can work for news-led moments such as a casting announcement, a festival selection or a surprise drop.

  1. CalendarWe map your release, premiere and announcement dates against the lead times of the outlets you want, from monthly magazines to daily entertainment desks.
  2. StoryWe look past the release itself for angles editors can use: the people, the making-of, the data or the cultural moment the work belongs to.
  3. AssetsPress notes, approved stills, clips, screener or preview access and talent availability, all ready before the first pitch goes out.
  4. OutreachPersonal pitches to entertainment editors, critics, podcast hosts and creators who already cover your genre and your audience.
  5. ReportA live coverage log with every item labelled earned, placed or paid, and a monthly review of what landed, what didn’t and why.
FAQ

Entertainment PR Agency: common questions

What does an entertainment PR agency do?

An entertainment PR agency is a publicity team that earns media coverage for films, series, music, games, books, live events and the people behind them. The work covers press planning, pitching, interviews, premieres and handling difficult stories.

Who do you work with?

Independent studios, production companies, labels, publishers, game developers, venues, creators and talent teams, mostly in the US. We also deliver white-label publicity for agencies that want extra hands on a release. If your project sits in a regulated area, such as gambling or alcohol promotion, the relevant advertising rules apply and we keep claims general.

Can you get my release reviewed or featured?

We can’t promise it. Editors and critics decide what they cover and what they say. We improve the odds with timing, strong assets and pitches that fit each writer, and we report honestly on what landed. If a story isn’t strong enough yet, we’ll tell you before the campaign starts and suggest what would make it stronger.

Do you buy sponsored coverage?

Sometimes, when a labelled sponsored feature reaches the right audience at a fair price. Every paid placement is labelled as paid, both on the publisher’s site and in your coverage log. We use sponsored work alongside earned coverage, to reach audiences that editors alone can’t get you in front of.

How much does entertainment PR cost?

Digital PR retainers start at $3,500 a month for the Signal package, and podcast booking is $1,200 a month. Full details are on our pricing page.
