News test
Before we write a word, we check whether the announcement would interest the reporters who cover your field. If it wouldn’t, we suggest a sharper angle, better timing or supporting data.
Sentinel’s press release writing service turns real company news into releases journalists can use: a clear headline, the facts up front, quotes worth printing and a plan for who should read it.
Most releases fail before anyone reads past the headline. They open with the company’s name, bury the news in paragraph four and quote a CEO saying they’re thrilled. A reporter skimming forty releases before lunch moves on, and the release ends up living only on the wire service’s own pages.
We write for the person deciding whether to cover you. That means the news in the first sentence, numbers and dates a reporter can check, a quote that adds a point of view, and a short note on why this matters to their readers this week. If there’s no news yet, we tell you, and we suggest what would make it newsworthy.

Headline, subhead, dateline, a lead that answers who, what, when and why, supporting detail and a boilerplate.
We interview your spokesperson and draft quotes that add opinion or context, then you approve every word. No one at your company should be quoted saying something they wouldn’t say to a reporter on the phone.
A short email version of the story for direct outreach to named journalists, which usually beats a mass send.
A list of the photos, data, founder bios and product details a journalist may ask for, so you can reply within the hour.
If a release goes out on a paid wire, your coverage log marks it as paid. Only stories journalists choose to write are logged as earned.
In Cision’s 2025 State of the Media report, based on a survey of more than 3,000 journalists, 72% named press releases as the most useful resource PR teams can offer. The same report found 86% will reject a pitch that doesn’t fit their beat or audience.

Sometimes. A wire is useful for regulated disclosures, broad trade reach or a searchable public record. For coverage in specific outlets, direct pitches to named reporters usually do more. Before launch, our team wrote and distributed more than 15 press releases for brands in five industries, through paid wire distribution, so we can talk through both routes.
No. A wire release is paid distribution, and we label it that way in your coverage log. If a journalist reads it and writes their own story, that story is earned.
A straightforward announcement can be ready in a few working days once we have the brief and a spokesperson for quotes. Complex news with data, partners or legal review takes longer, so tell us the date as early as you can. Embargoed news needs extra time for briefing reporters before it goes public.
We scope releases inside a wider PR plan rather than selling them one at a time. Our published plans and rates are on the pricing page.
